FAITH EXPLORERS
SHAPING OUR YOUTH IN MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT
SHAPING OUR YOUTH IN MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT
During our 9:30 worship service on Sunday mornings, we encourage our families with children to stay in the sanctuary until the conclusion of the children’s message. Then, for those who wish to participate, we dismiss kids of all ages up to 5th grade to our “Faith Explorers” Sunday School program.
The curriculum begins each week with a Welcome Celebration, where we sing songs, share joys from the week, collect a voluntary offering, and pray together. Then the children remain together in one room but are assigned by age group to a different leader who leads them in a time of faith discovery and fun!
Parents and caregivers are welcome to join us for Faith Explorers as a volunteer, or they can take that time to attend worship; either way, they can know their children are in great hands. Please see below for more details about the learning opportunities for each of our age groups.
I like that Holy Trinity has charities for animals and people around the world that need them. I find it interesting and enjoyable that the children get to go to Faith Explorers. We have a lot of fun there and we learn much about the Bible at the same time. I have made a lot of friends here!
In our nursery area we offer our congregation’s youngest children an opportunity to explore the world through their unique, blossoming perspective. With our nurturing and supportive environment, parents can rest assured that their kiddoes will play, learn Bible stories, sing, and make friends. Please note that we encourage our families with infants and toddlers to join us during our Welcome Celebration, before bringing them to the nursery.
Our volunteers lead our preschool and kindergarten-aged children each week in an enriching time to make crafts, play games, sing songs, and learn new things about a life with Jesus. Please note, children who haven’t yet turned four are welcome to join this group with his or her parent.
Our Sunday School leaders are great at engaging our older children with many different hands-on and participatory activities during their time in the Faith Explorers program. Our first and second graders are grouped together and third, fourth and fifth graders make a second group during this time. These students learn a new story or theme each week from “sparkhouse” curriculum, which mirrors the biblical Scripture that their parents simultaneously learn from the message given in the worship service.
At the end of the 9:30 worship service, our volunteers bring children back to the sanctuary to join with their family for closing prayers and communion in worship, as we embrace togetherness during this special time. Additionally, on occasion during worship, we invite our children to share the things they have learned and created in Sunday School with the adults.
