When the pandemic started, there was a debate between pastors and bishops about whether or not communion could be done online over the internet or whether people had to be in person to make it truly a sacrament. Some churches didn’t do communion because they could not be physically together, but some celebrated the sacrament by having people get together their own bread and wine or grape juice and having communion together over a video conferencing platform such as Zoom.
