42nd Annual Conejo Valley CROP Hunger Walk

Join the Holy Trinity team and walk with people in the community who believe in ending hunger. 2020 - 42nd Annual Conejo Valley CROP Hunger Walk  Sunday, March 1, 2020  Time:  Registration at Noon,      Walk begins at 1:00 PM Location:  California Lutheran University, Gilbert Sports Center Photo Opportunity:  Everyone who walks for Holy Trinity, please meet at the football statue in front of the football stadium for a quick photo before we walk. Look for the table at church on the patio to sign up or sign up online.  To join online visit https://www.crophungerwalk.org/thousandoaksca.  Find a walker or team and type in Holy Trinity, you can then join the Holy Trinity team. You can send an e-mail to friends or let your friends know you're walking via social media. 25% of the funds will go to fight hunger in the Conejo Valley through Meals on Wheels, Manna, Harvest Food Pantry and Harbor House (Meal and Shelter Program). 75% of the funds raised will go to Church World Services(CWS).  CWS is working urgently on climate change.  From rising sea levels and severe weather events to shifting agricultural seasons and increased exposure to disease, the world is feeling the impacts of climate change. Its worst consequences fall increasingly on vulnerable communities, those who have contributed the least to climate change but yet suffer the most. This is a human-made problem that cries out for a human solution in the form of fully engaged leaders, advocates and citizens working together to save our planet from devastation of climate change. In countries where CWS works, changing weather patterns, increased frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, unpredictability of once-stable cultivating and harvesting patterns, damage to ecosystems and decreasing supplies of water have altered the environment in which families live and work.Challenges have escalated,...
