Thoughts While RunningWednesday, September 1, 2004Recently, while running, I was reminded of the rhythms of life that we develop. Most importantly the September beginning of school, although Linda and I do not have kids in school anymore, we still remember those wonderful, hectic, exciting times. Buying new jeans and shirts, getting notebooks and backpacks, looking at schedules and what was ahead and planning. There was an energy to this all its own. In a like manner the church seems to respond to September in the same way. There is renewed activity, a willingness to serve and to share with each other.
This fall will be an exciting time at Holy Trinity. Village Sunday School will gear up, a new contemporary service will be added to our schedule in October, Dedication Sunday will be held in October, with a chance to hear about all the wonderful ministries we have in place and how we can support those ministries. Of course we will also be celebrating things like Reformation Day, Halloweenie Roast, All Saints Day, and Thanksgiving. Yes, the fall will be filled with celebration and good things. Please make plans to be a part of it all for it does matter that you are there. The light of Christ that burns in us through our Baptism is brighter always when it is combined with others.
I pray that you will have a wonderful fall and the renewed energy that comes from the renewal of summer would sustain you into this exciting time. See you in church.
