The Village of Janga was a very different place than the rural town in Montana where I had grown up. People were still living in ways that they had probably lived for thousands of years. The majority of the dwellings in the village were still made out of mud-brick and still had thatched roofing made from local grasses. There was no running water or indoor plumbing. There were no paved roads. They spoke a local language that only people around that small area knew and they had different traditional clothing and customs.
