Overview of the Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program:
The Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program is an innovative, higher education program with a pedagogical approach that facilitates dialogue across profound social barriers experienced in a correctional institution.
Inside-Out Prison Exchange is a semester-long college course that brings campus-based college students together with incarcerated students to study as peers in a seminar behind prison walls.
This program began at Temple University and it has been replicated across the United States and other nations, in particular, over 900 college professors have been trained to teach Inside-Out courses since its inception 22 years ago.
