Worship & Music

By Nov 19, 2015

There is much that goes into a worship service - find out more here.

“Praise the Lord!  I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart, in the company of the upright, in the congregation.”  Psalm 111:1

Vera singsIt is good to be in worship together, to express praise and gratitude and share our joy together.  Some of the ways we serve and worship together include traditional music (organ, piano, senior choir, praise band, soloists, handbell choir, and special musicians), a children’s choir, and contemporary praise band music.  We are an especially blessed congregation with many talents in the musical arts, and there are always new ways of serving in this area while also having fun and making friends!

Worship requires a significant number of volunteers including ushers, deacons to help serve Communion, readers, greeters, Altar Guild, sound booth technicians and people to run the power point visual programs.Jolie,Jeremy B-R

Our 7th and 8th grade Confirmation students serve as acolytes in the traditional services while various children from the 9:45 informal service help out with the candles and with Communion meal which they enjoy very much.

Volunteer coordinators are also very important.

If you’re interested in signing up to fill a spot here and there throughout the year, contact Jennifer at the church office (805-492-1234) and she will get you in touch with the right person.  There is something for everyone, whether you enjoy reading the Bible verses, singing, saying hello to people, or passing the offering trays and helping folks get seated.  It’s a wonderful experience to be part of as we worship God together.
