Holy Trinity participates in many outreach programs

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.  Truly, I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these, you did it to me.- Matthew 25:35, 40

Some of the outreach programs that Holy Trinity members can participate in include:

Tutoring

Tutoring volunteer Shirlee Stone gets a card from a student

Tutoring – During the school year for 1st and 2nd graders on Wednesday nights, many HTLC members meet with the kids to help them improve their basic skills.  The location is close to church.  Adults work with individual students on reading, writing, and math.  Sessions run each school year from early October until May and there’s also a special summer program.  Call the church office at 805-492-1234 for more information.

Winter Shelter – begins early December, with sign-ups at church for various jobs like hosting, making breakfast, or washing sheets. The Winter Shelter is an overnight program running until the end of March.

Our Meals Program runs throughout the remainder of the year.

Walk for Poverty took place this year on October 5th.  The walk is a 3 mile course (or whatever you can do) and begins at California Lutheran University’s Kingsmen Park.  To solicit sponsors or to donate go to www.LSSWalk.org.  All of the proceeds are going to our local Lutheran Social Services (LSS) Community Care Center.

Gifts of Hope – an alternative form of gift giving, in the spirit of Christmas.  Each year our project differs, but is a way of spreading the light of Jesus and thanking God for the many blessings in our lives. PeacePoleFriends

Peace Pole – our Peace Pole is in the center of our church campus and now features the words “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in nine different languages, each special to HTLC for unique reasons.

Community Outreach & Advocacy Ministry – if you would like to be a part of helping the community and advocating those who need help, please join our group.  We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00PM for approximately one hour, in the church Library.  Call the office for more information (805-492-1234).
