The sermon this Sunday will be given by Pastor Janet Hansted and is titled, “Giving Up ‘Business as Usual’ for Lent”. The sermon will be given at the 8:15AM and 9:45AM services. Please note: There will be NO 11:00 service today, as we are holding a congregational retreat to discuss Holy Trinity’s mission and role in the community. Please join us for worship and discussion.
Sunday school classes will be held as usual and the lesson today is “Jesus Calms the Storm/Walks on Water”. All children are welcome to join our Sunday School at any time, and you can find the Sunday School teachers holding colored flags, as the children are led out of the 9:45 worship service following the Children’s Sermon portion of the service.
Middle School youth will meet for their Sunday school classes in the Hut at 9:45 with Youth Minister Shannon Savage-Howie. There will be no High School class, as they are having their Winter Retreat.
The Spiritual Growth Forum will be held in the Fireside Room during the 9:45 and 11:00 services. The topic this week is the 4th in a series called “Christianity: The Second Thousand Years” led by moderator Dr. Joseph Everson. Feel free to join in even if you missed the previous sessions. This week focuses on Church Dogma vs Modern Science, the Renaissance, Industrial Revolution, Religious Freedom, and as it relates to the U.S. Constitution.
Our Lenten service this week will be Wednesday at 7:15PM following a “soup supper”, in the Fellowship Hall, where folks who have signed up to bring pots of soup and tasty bread bring it in to share with all. Please join us.
