With the holiday season fast approaching, the Property Committee has decided to spruce up Fellowship Hall by removing the old, fabric based wallpaper and replacing it with a fresh coat of paint. Help is needed to “prep”, and to paint, and the work must be done quickly to avoid interfering with all the wonderful work, learning, and fun that goes on regularly in Fellowship Hall. The more hands, the better!!!

“Halloweenie Roast” Event with Petting Zoo, Costume Show and More; October 28
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church is hosting it’s annual Fall festival featuring a hot dog dinner, kid’s costume show, a haunted house, kids games including a cake walk, “Trunk-A-Treat” walk through the closed off parking lot, and back by popular demand, a petting zoo – all in the church courtyard.
The petting zoo is open from 3-4PM only. All other activities run from 3-5PM with the costume party being announced at approximately 4:00. There is a suggested $2.00 donation for the hot dog dinner (including baked beans, chips, carrots, and drink) and all other events are free.
Adults, please bring your Halloween candy and park in the North parking lot. When we announce “Trunk or Treat” time, the children will go from car to car to collect candy only in the roped off area.
“Dedication Sunday” on Oct. 21 Showcases A Wealth of Spiritual Growth Opportunities
Be sure to stick around between and after worship services on October 21st, as all of our ministries under our “Live”, “Love”, and “Learn the Word of God” umbrellas, as well as our Administration area will be highlighting the many opportunities we have to serve the Lord by helping others, worshiping with joy, giving and learning…there is always something “new” and there is something for everyone!
They say it is greater to give than to receive, but as many of the hosts of this event will describe, we find that when we lend our time and abilities to do God’s work, we “receive” so much more.
Group leaders will be on hand to share information and answer questions.
Communion Class Being Offered October 16, 17, & 18 at 12:45 and 1:30PM
“Why do we drink wine?”
“Does it matter what kind of bread we use?”
“What is God doing when we come to the Communion table?”
Inquiring minds want to know!
If your children are asking questions or showing interest in receiving Communion, now may be a good time to provide instruction that is age-appropriate and supports them in their faith journey.
Instruction is provided for children at every age. Classes are forming now for October 16, 17, and 18 from 12:45 – 1:30Pm and from 1:30 to 2:15PM. Other times and dates can be arranged.
If you have questions or would like to sign your child up, please call Pastor Janet at the church office at (805) 492-1234 as soon as possible. Everyone must register in advance to ensure available materials. First Communion Sunday is October 21st at the 8:30 and 11:00 worship services – young people and their families will commune together at this time. Please feel free to invite friends and family members to join us on this special day.
