Let us pray for the church, that as the Advent candles glow more brightly, our hearts may be awakened to see the unity we share with Christians of every land and tongue whom proclaim Emmanuel, God with us. O giver of hope, hear our prayer.

Let us pray for the work of the entire ELCA Division for Global Mission, for Executive Director Reverend Rafael Padilla and for all the missionaries who carry God’s grace to those in need. We celebrate the local partnership in ministry that we share with our sisters and brothers at Trinity in Ventura. We pray for them and their Pastors Dave Hall an Jon Christenson, for deep faithfulness and strong ministry to reveal the light of God’s love in their communities. O giver of hope, hear our prayer.

Let us pray for the nations of the world, that where nation lifts up sword against nation, a new day will dawn an peace will reign. O giver of hope, hear our prayer.

Let us pray for those who labor in the night. We give thanks for the work of health care professionals, law officers, firefighters, emergency dispatchers, and all who serve while we sleep. O giver of hope, hear our prayer.
